Management and Marketing Intern

Hello everyone! I’m a freshman student at the University of Texas at Austin. My family is originally from Banjul, Gambia, but I was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Currently, I am majoring in mathematics, but I hope to soon transfer into the McCombs School of Business to major in management information systems while working towards an elements of computing certificate. I have a passion for non-profit work and enjoy undergoing tasks and projects that improve my marketing, communication, and management skills as I hope to start a business in the future.

Thankfully, The Seena Magowitz Foundation has given me the opportunity to hone these fundamental skills as a Management and Marketing Intern while working towards an amazing goal.

I came across The Seena Magowitz Foundation on Handshake during my spring internship search. I began researching the foundation’s overall goal, and I quickly concluded that their mission to eradicate pancreatic cancer is truly remarkable. Sadly, my grandfather died of pancreatic cancer in 2010. I kept telling myself that it was just a bad dream that I would wake up from at any moment, but what I believed to be a dream was my reality. This tragedy made me realize that it is imperative to support medical research and funding for clinical trials to help prevent other families from experiencing the same pain as myself and others who have lost loved ones due to the disease.

As an intern, I am prepared to take on projects and tasks required to assist and positively impact The Seena Magowitz Foundation. I am looking forward to utilizing my unique skill set and perspective to improve marketing outreach and event outcomes. Ultimately, I hope to help spread awareness of pancreatic cancer and share The Seena Magowitz Foundation’s mission with the world!
