I Was Blessed To Have Been Under The Care of Dr. Douglas B. Evans

Status: Currently receiving chemotherapy

In 2014, I experienced stomach distress and unexplained weight loss.  After numerous diagnostic procedures, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  It was an overwhelming diagnosis, however, it was a blessing that I lived close to Froedtert Hospital and The Medical College of Wisconsin which allowed me to receive treatments close to home under the care of Dr. Douglas B. Evans and his team.

When I was first diagnosed, I was considered borderline operable.  Dr. Evans explained that I would need to get through a course of chemotherapy and a course of radiation therapy with no evidence of metastatic disease to be a candidate for surgery.  Thankfully, the chemo and radiation therapies were successful and in May of 2015, Dr. Evans successfully performed my surgery.

With the skill, knowledgeable, and experience of Dr. Evans and his medical team, along with the love and support of family, friends, and my fellow workers, I am blessed to have walked my daughter down the aisle in 2019 and I look forward to welcoming my first grandchild in 2022.
