Babbo’s Day of Giving fundraising to fight Pancreatic Cancer

Join Us for the 4th Annual Baseball for Babbo Day of Giving: February 26th, 2025

Babbo Italian Eatery proudly invites you to its fourth annual Baseball for Babbo Day of Giving, a heartfelt event dedicated to raising funds for the fight against pancreatic cancer. On this special day, all eight Valley Babbo Italian Eatery locations will donate 100% of their profits to support the Seena Magowitz Foundation’s funding of a critical clinical trial at the Medical College of Wisconsin, in partnership with the HonorHealth Research Institute.

Double the Impact
To amplify this effort, The Pollack Family and Roger E. Magowitz, founder of the Seena Magowitz Foundation, will match all funds raised, up to $50,000 each.

A Tribute to a Beloved Leader

This event honors the legacy of Ken Pollack, the late founder of Babbo Italian Eatery, a devoted baseball fan who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in late 2022. The name “Babbo,” meaning “daddy” in Italian, reflects Ken’s role as a guiding figure to both his family and the Babbo team.

“My dad lived by the philosophy, ‘If you give, you will get; and if you get, you should give,’” shared Taylor Schultz, Ken’s daughter and Marketing Director of Babbo Italian Eatery. “Baseball for Babbo is our way of carrying forward his legacy and his unwavering commitment to giving back.”

The Cause: Fighting Pancreatic Cancer

Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths, with a five-year survival rate now at 13%—a notable improvement from just 5.2% in 2001. The Seena Magowitz Foundation is dedicated to advancing awareness, improving quality of life for patients, and funding research to eliminate this devastating disease.

“In the battle against pancreatic cancer, every step forward is a triumph,” said Roger E. Magowitz. “United with Babbo Italian Eatery and our community, we are determined to change the story of this aggressive illness.”
