Community Relations Representative

JANET BOR:
Community Relations Representative

Janet herself is a Pancreatic Cancer Warrior. She was diagnosed in July, 2017 and participated in a clinical trial at HonorHealth Research Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona. Having worked at the Banner Hospital System for over 15 years she has the background to help other patients with advice and the importance of maintaining a positive outlook while dealing with the rigors of treatments.

She has a strong, diverse business and professional background having been an educator and has spent many years in marketing communications, public relations, public television, and assisted in staging charity fundraising events. Janet has even owned and operated an event and catering company as well as her own consulting agency.

Today, she welcomes the opportunity of volunteering her skill-sets as Community Relations Representative for the Seena Magowitz Foundation. It is her way of “giving back” to society. Among her foundation roles will be instilling hope to other pancreatic cancer patients, creating awareness of pancreatic cancer, and interacting with both local and national media to spread the power of knowledge.

As Community Relations Representative for the Foundation, Janet will be assisting the Director of Marketing with press releases, public relations, and assistance in planning and executing fundraising events that benefit medical research in search of easy methods of early detection, innovative life-extending treatments, and ultimately a cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer, the worst of all cancers.
